After suffering the first defeat of the regular season, Xtreme came out on Wednesday night looking to rebound against Greenthumb/Woodland. It was a "brutal" start and a series of errors saw Greenthumb score 8 runs in the top of the 1st. Fortunately, Xtreme replied with 7 runs of their own in the home half of the inning. Xtreme settled down and held Greenthumb to only 5 more runs over the next 6 innings, and managed to score another 15 times during the course of the night, en route to a 22-13 victory.
Highlights included Rick Mace going 5-for-5 at the plate, and Paul Wilcox (4-for-5) adding his name to the Team's HR List after jacking his 1st of the season.
Outfielder Tim Rodgers suffered an injury in the first inning which required a trip to the local emergency ward. Unfortunately, the finger will take a bit of time to heal and Tim is believed to be limited to score-keeping and beer-drinking for the next couple of weeks.
The win takes Xtreme to 10-1-1 on the Season, and they now sit 1.0 full game ahead of the Devils for top-spot in the President's Division. Xtreme battles Coulas this Sunday at 6:30pm on K2.
