Sunday was supposed to see Xtreme Contracting open the 2013 season with a double-header against the Rebels and Hanet Plastics. Instead, due to an "interesting" decision to say the least, diamond permits were withheld and Sunday's League Games were cancelled.
Instead of showing up for just another practice, Ackford reached out to Dunner and invited the Falcons to a pre-season game. Falcons no doubt were up for the challenge and the teams got together for a 6:30pm start. Falcons took an early 4-0 lead in the top of the first but Xtreme answered with 3 runs in the home half of the inning. Both defenses saw their fair share of errors, but it was a relatively close game throughout the 9 innings. The teams combined for 7 homeruns on the evening.
In the end, Xtreme prevailed with a 20-14 victory. A re-match was being scheduled for Thursday evening, however it was announced earlier today that the 2013 season would commence regular season games on Monday May 6th.
