Coming off a big win on Sunday over the Storm, Xtreme (7-5) faced-off against the A's (5-9) for the second time this season on Monday evening. Thankfully this time, the Leafs were not actively involved in a Game 7 Playoff and as a result, Xtreme managed to remain focused on Baseball (not throwing away another 11-run lead in this one).
Overall, the bats were decent with some clutch hits at key times, including Homeruns by Chris Mace (12th) and Jamie Allan (7th). The Defense was also solid throughout the entire game, only to see the shutout lost in the bottom of the 7th inning, then followed by a couple of walks, and capped-off with a Grand Slam for the A's.
Nevertheless (in the words of multi-platinum recording artist JoJo), this was "Too Little Too Late" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s8LIRtPnuA8, as Xtreme's Mikey Anderson was called in from the bullpen to record the final couple of outs in this one and Xtreme rolled to its 4th straight victory by a final score of 16-5.
With the Injured Reserve list growing by the day, Xtreme will gladly welcome the 8-day layoff before they return to action in a double-header on Wednesday July 3rd which will feature an 8:00pm road game against Direct Elevator, followed by a 9:30pm home date against Hanet Plastics.
