Looking for a bounce-back win on Monday night following a disheartening defeat at the hands of Storm, Xtreme Contracting hosted the Coulas Bone Crushers on K1 at 8:00pm.
Unfortunately, it was another poor performance with a serious lack of offence. Xtreme's defense made a couple of early errors but recovered well, holding a good hitting Coulas team to 6 runs through six innings of play. The problem... Xtreme had but 2 runs of their own and then proceeded to give up 5 more in the top of the 7th, whereas an Ashbee solo Homerun in the bottom of the frame was the only additional offence mustered, and Xtreme suffered their second consecutive loss by a final count of 11-3.
Xtreme will lick their wounds on Tuesday before heading out on a 3-game road trip which opens on Wednesday night at K1 (9:30pm) when Mayhem plays host to the 2011 WMSPL Playoff Champs.
With a 15-8 record now through 23 games, Xtreme has only 15 remaining in the regular season, and it is projected that a 13-2 record over the remaining games will be necessary in order to have a chance at capturing the coveted President's Division & League Title.
