Tuesday night was the "Final Tune-up" for Xtreme before Sunday Night's clash against the Storm, and the Xtreme Contracting booster-club was not left disappointed with their team's performance.
Xtreme carried a 9-0 lead for a few innings before Mayhem cashed their first run of the evening. After adding 11 more, it was a team focus on keeping the runs against to a minimum in the event of a tie for the President's Division at year-end. Xtreme added one more run in the top of the 7th and while it was a solid overall defensive performance on the evening (contemplated by a great pitching effort by Mitchell), Mayhem put together a few hits and were able to score 2 additional runs in the bottom of the 7th inning.
Xtreme Contracting (24-9) has 5 games remaining in its' 2013 regular season campaign and now holds an 18-run advantage (Runs Against Column) over the Storm. With a 2-1 record versus the Storm this season, another win on Sunday will mean Xtreme owns the first tie-break scenario should the two teams finish with identical records.
Xtreme will be paying close attention to Wednesday night's Falcons/Coulas match-up, as the Bone Crushers put a 5-game winning streak on the line when they play host to the Falcons on K1 at 8pm.
A few single-seat tickets are still available for Sunday's game at 6:30pm on K1, however "the hill" is already SOLD OUT (predominantly taken-up by the Falcons) who will be eating their pizza and enjoying some cold ones, as they cheer-on the 2011 WMSPL Playoff Champions!!!
