Xtreme (4-4) had an opportunity to move within 1 game of the Falcons (6-2) on Friday night as they met for their first of four regular season clashes.
It was another closely contested game, tied up at 8's through 4 innings. Xtreme gave up 5 runs in the 5th, and then could not muster a comeback big enough on this evening. A few more runs here and there for both teams resulted in the 19-11 Falcons final, dropping Xtreme's record to 4-5 on the year.
Said Tommy Lasorda when asked about Xtreme's disappointing 2013 campaign thus far:
"No matter how good you are, you're going to lose one-third of your games. No matter how bad you are you're going to win one-third of your games. It's the other third that makes the difference".
Xtreme will look to bounce back and even their record on Sunday afternoon at 5pm when they play host to the Devils on K2.
