On a warm and eventually sunny Tuesday evening following the May Long-Weekend and coming off a loss to the A's, Xtreme players were absolutely pumped for a battle against Mayhem at 9:30pm on K2, only to be advised 90+ minutes prior to game-time that all games had been cancelled for the evening due to a bit of rain.
When asked about the email announcement, team officials could only re-iterate their disappointment with another example of games being cancelled prior to game-time. While it is difficult to say whether the game would have been "a go", team members and fans alike were clearly unhappy with the early call. "My kid just finished playing their game in the rain, not a big deal" was commented by one source. Another replied, "Well, lets go have ourselves a practice". The Food & Beverage Manager commented "I'll be there with the drinks".
Xtreme (1-1) will now prepare for Friday night's WMSPL Mid-Season Tourney opener against "Whitby's Most Beloved" Falcons (2-0). As this is not an elimination game, the Falcons are guaranteed that Xtreme will not knock them out of another consecutive tournament (well, at least not on Friday night)!
Game time is 8:00pm on K1. Come out and cheer on Xtreme as they look to take the first step towards capturing their first piece of hardware in 2013!
