1st week of June... Xtremely Average!

The 2014 WMSPL Tournament Champions entered the month of June carrying a 3-2 record heading into their matchup against the Storm on Sunday June 1st.  Following a defeat at the hands of Storm just 7 days prior, Xtreme was looking to bounce back with a victory.  Unfortunately, it was repeat of the previous game with multiple defensive errors combined with a lack of offense that lead to another loss to the Storm, this time by a 16-10 result.  Following two off-nights, Xtreme returned home to K1 where they faced off against Mayhem.  This one was the definition of a scrappy win, as Xtreme played come from behind for most of the game prior to taking a 15-13 lead in the bottom of the 6th.  Xtreme shut down Mayhem in the top of the 7th to preserve the victory and improving their record to 4-3 on the season.

Sunday night featured Xtreme Contracting in a double-header against two tough President's Division rivals - the Falcons and the previously undefeated Direct Elevator squad.  The Falcons game was close through the first inning (a 3-3 draw), however the Falcons pounded the ball in 4 of the 5 innings that followed and Xtreme could do very little defensively (or offensively) resulting in a lop-sided 26-8 victory for the Falcons.  After picking up their pride, equipment, and enjoying a quick refreshment, Xtreme made the move over to K1 to take on the 7-1 Direct Elevator (who were handed their first loss of the season in their 8pm game against Hanet Plastics).  Xtreme took an early lead which they added to gradually throughout the game, while maintaining solid defense as they took a 10-0 lead into the bottom of the 7th, only to concede 2 runs to Direct, ending the bid for Mitchell's complete game shutout.  Nevertheless, with the victory Xtreme moved to 5-4 on the season and will now prepare to visit Greenthumb on Tuesday evening at 9:30pm.
